LIFTED EMBARGO OPPOSED
MID-CANTERBURY FARMERS MEET. By Telegraph—Press Association. Ashburton, Last Night. At the annual conference of the MidCanterbury Farmers’ Union a remit was carried that every effort be made to prevent the lifting of the embargo on imported stock. It was resolved that vendors of licks and drenches for sheep and lambs should bear on the labels an analysis of the ingredients. It was decided to ask the Government to reduce the rates of its interest demands in conformity with the general trfend and to make a reduction in land tax. Mr. Raymond Oakley was elected president. x
