MINERS GO BACK TO WORK
END OF BLACKWATER STRIKE. RESTORATION OF WAGE CUTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, May 30. The Blackwater mines strike has definitely ended, and preparations are being made for a general resumption of work on Monday. The conditions of settlement are, roughly: The complete restoration of wage cuts, which was practically offered by the company at the outset of the dispute, with extra concessions to contractors. The strike was in progress 14 weeks and involved a loss of £l5OO in wages. There is no change in the strike at the Alexander mine.
