Mothers’ Club and Auxiliary.
The Mothers’ Club of the Y.W.C.A. has an active membership of 30 women. After the business session of a meeting the programme generally consists of an address by a well-known local speaker on a subject of topical interest. Social gatherings are held at intervals during the month, and the May event was an extremely enjoyable five hundred evening attended by members and friends at the Y.W.C.A. hostel. The players at the winning table were Mesdames W. Chapman, A. Gledhill, W. R. Wright and Mr. W. Abraham. In every town in the Dominion where there is a “Y” there is at least one auxiliary. The membership of the gfoup comprises women who are interested in the welfare of youth, but who owing to other ties are unable to take a very active part in the work of the associations. The New Plymouth Auxiliary meets once a month in the homes of various members under the presidency of Mrs. G. A. Gaustad.
