DETTON’S DEFEAT OF SANTEN.

A cleverly executed back-loop slam spelt disaster for Charlie Santen when he met Dean Detton here to-night in the fastest and most spectacular professional wrestling contest ever staged in the Wairarapa. Santen secured the first fall early in the fourth round with a body press following an aeroplane spin. Detton equalised within ten seconds of the opening of the next round, when Santen. crashed through on to the spectators after being tackled all round the ring. He was unable to resume and Detton was awarded a fall. The sixth session was full of thrills, the end coming after seven minutes of spectacular wrestling when Detton back-loop slammed his opponent to gain the deciding fall
