ESTIMATES FOR THE YEAR. NOTICE OF MOTION OF RATES. Estimates for the year 1934-35 were approved by the Stratford Borough Council last night and the mayor (Mr. J. W. McMillan) gave notice to move at the next meeting rates of IJd for special purposes and 2]d for general. The estimates are:— Electricity Department. Expenditure: Bulk £4500, salaries and wages £llOO, telephones £25, advertising and stationery £5O, rates £l5, insurance £35, miscellaneous £5O, capital expenditure £3OO, bad and doubtful debts £5O, street lighting £225, sub-stations £6O, footpath lighting £250. sinking fund £505, interest £2335, depreciation £250; total £9750. Receipts: Sale of electricity £12,500. General. Receipts: License fees £l2OO, rents £lO5O, refunds and sundries £5OO, subsidy on rates £2OO, rest room £4O, library £250, town hall £l2O, abattoir £llOO, extra water supply £lO5O, cemetery fees £230, sanitation fees £6OO, main highways £350, water rates £lBOO, 10 per cent, penalty £2O, electricity account £12,500, from last year £lOOO, special rates lid £2lOO, general rate 2:]d on £374,600 £3860; total £27,960. Expenditure: Office salaries £356, inspector £240, ranger (part H.
