PLAY AT WAIWAKAIHO LINKS CHONG WINS MEDLEY CUP. RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY. The early starters had all the better of conditions at. the Waiwakaiho golf links on Saturday; as heavy rain set in soon after 3 o’clock and many did s not complete their rounds. The three ■leaders in the Medley Cup competition, G. M. Chong, A. E. Conway and T. A. Thomson, maintained their places, Chong winning comfortably with a score of 1 up for the 36 holes, Conway being 3 down and Thomson 4 down. The senior bogey was won by F. Quin with the fine card of 3 up, while among the' juniors K. F. Walker and J. S. Thomson tied with 2 down. Following are the Medley Cup leaders:— G. M. Chong, 3 up 2 down—l up. A. E. Conway, 2 up 5 down—3 down. T. A. Thomson, 1 up 5 down—4 down. K. F. Walker, 3 down 2 down—s down. J. M. Clark, 5 down 2 down—7 down. J. S. Thomson, 5 down 2. down—7 down. FITZIROY COMPETITIONS GORRIE WINS POWER TROPHY. FINE FINISHING ROUND. With a splendid final round of 83—19— 64 F. Gorrie annexed the Power trophy at Fitzroy on Saturday. His total for the 54 holes was 200, which gave him a margin of four strokes from C. P. Grainger, . who had led the, first two rounds. Gorrie also won the bogey match with 2 up, H. Jacka with 1 up being next. The following were the results:— Power Trophy, 54 holes medal play: F. Gorrie 200, C. P. Grainger 204, D. McKearney 211, J. Medhurst 212, W. Short 212, B. S. Whiteside 214. Bogey Handicap: F. Gorrie 2 up, H. Jacka 1 up, J. Med Hurst 2 down, C. Hall 2 down, B. S. Whiteside 3 down. ELTHAM DEFEATS STRATFORD. 'RESULTS OF WEEK-END GAME. Results of the golf match between Eltham and Stratford played during the week-end., resulting in a win for Eltham by 9 games to 7, four games being halved, are as follow, Eltham players being mentioned first:— L. Quin and Abbott lost to Green and Anderson 3 and 2 and 1 down. Cooper and Wills beat Neal and Morris 4 and 3,2 and 1. L. Gibson and Budge beat Newell and Wills 2 and 1, 1 up. Stewart and Roberts lost to Rutherfurd and Sullivan 1 down and won 3 and 2. H. Casey and Clemow all square with Armstrong and Lyons and won 3 and 2. Turner and Morton lost to Graham and Burmester 2 and 1 and won 2 and 1. McKay and H. B. Gibson lost to Strachan and Maguire 2 and 1 and all square. Tiplady and Stanners beat Urwin and Kirkwood 1 up and all square. Wylds and Forth all square with Sole and O’Leary and won 3 and 2. Fallows and Jones lost to Wynyard aj?d O. Lyons 5 and 3 and 7. and 5.
