CHESS AND DRAUGHTS CLUB
FORMATION AT FITZROY. Despite the inclement weather there was a fair attendance at a meeting held in the Fitzroy hall on Wednesday night when the Fitzroy-Bell Block Chess and Draughts Club was formed. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. Geo. Davy; secretary, Mr. A. V. Cooper; committee, Messrs. G. F. Goldsworthy, F. J. Dodunski, M. Grey, F. G. Baker, W. J. Bethell. It was decided to hpld the weekly club gathering on Wednesday night and the hope was expressed that all those interested would be present at the official Opening night next Wednesday. Possibly a Fitzroy versus Country match will be played.
