DAIRY PRODUCE QUANTITIES. Speaking at the farewell in honour of Mr. A. J. Austin at New Plymouth yesterday Mr. J. Brown, chairman of the Taranaki Producers’ Freezing Company* said that during the last six years 1,835,328 cases of butter and 1,445,279 crates of cheese had passed through the works to the wharves for export. Mr. A. Dunlop, supplementing Mr. Brown’s remarks, said the average yalue of the produce shipped, from ’New Plymouth each year was £1,500,000, even at the present prices. He was sure New Plymouth was. to be. one of the most important ports in the Dominion.
