BRITISH MACHINE SELECTED
SMITH ENTERS CENTENARY RACE. TO USE ONE OF MYSTERY PLANES. By Telegraph— Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10 p.m. Sydney, April 12. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith announced to-day that he had entered the Melbourne centenary air race and was using a Comet, one of the six British mystery machines specially built for this race. It* cost was being defrayed by an anonymous Australian backer. His co-pilot in the air race will b® Captain P. C. Taylor. The pair will leav® for England in July to test the machine.
