LEPPERTON DISTRICT NEWS
PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. The local hall committee held a meeting last week to consider the tenders for alterations to the supper-room. Five tenders were received ranging from £B5 to £l6O, that of Mr. F. L. Flbtcher bfeihg accepted. At the annual meeting of the Lepperton Football Club Mr. E. W. W. Wheatley presided over a good muster of keen players. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. B. W. W. Wheatley; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Clark, E. Hulier and W. Drinkwater; committee, Messrs. R. Paul, J. Payfife, A* Old, W. Drinkwater, With the president, secretary and captain. The harvest thanksgiving service in connection with St. Mark’s Church took place on Sunday, there being a good congregation. There was a fine lot of produce which has been given to the New Plymouth hospital; ,Thq church was decorated with flowers and foliage. Mrs. E. W. Wheatley presided St the organ for the service. Sympathy is extended, to Mr. J,. E. Bigelow, headmaster of the school, in the sudden death of his mother in Auckland.
