NAYLOR CLAIMS DAMAGES
SEQUEL TO DISQUALIFICATION. ALLEGATION OF LIBEL MADE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 6.30 p.m. Sydney, March 31. Arising out of the disqualification o£ Rufus Naylor, who was associated with Winooka’s trip to America, Naylor today applied for an interim injunction to restrain the Australian Jockey Club committee from further proceeding upon its decision. The court granted the application and Naylor is now issuing a writ claiming £lO,OOO damages against the Australian Jockey Club for alleged libel. „ The committee disqualified Naylor during its pleasure under Rule 171. Naylor was formerly prominent as a bookmaker: The committee also disqualified F. J. Punch under another part of the same rule until he attends to answer certain questions. The horses Movado and Gesto are also disqualified during the committee’s pleasure.
