BOY THROWN FROM HORSE
ACCIDENT AT MANGAMINGI. FRACTURE ABOVE THE ANKLE. A painful accident befel Master Jack Nichdlson, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Nicholson, Riverlea, at Mhngamihgi bn Tuesday afternoon. The boy, who works for his brother, Was tiding fbt his cows along the Wingrove Road when the horse slipped and fell off him, fracturing a leg just above the ankle and injuring the knee. The boy Was alone at the time, the weather was Wet afld cold and it took him the best part of an hoUr to crawl near enough to Mr. Hickey’s cowshed for his cries to attract attention. Mr. Hickey, who was alone, at the shed, drove his car as far as possible, and then carried the sufferer to the shed. After putting the boy into dry clothes, Mr. Hickey conveyed him to a private hospital at Eltham. The boy suffered intense pain, but showed remarkable pluck and fortitude. The Weather.
Much-needed rain fell on Tuesday, with the result that the pastured and crops Will benefit. Owing to the prolonged dry spell the grass Wa6 becoming short and the milk supply had fallen pore rapidly than was usual during March. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. H. S.
