NEW ZEALAND REPRESENTATIVES. selection of swimming team. gy Association. Christchurch, March 31. Hie council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association ha* decided to nominate Noel Crump (Auckland) for the 100 yards and 440 yards events at the British Empire games. W. Whareatu (Rotorua) and L. Smith (Feildine) have been provisionally nominated for the backstroke and breaststroke events respectively, subject to the necessary finance being available. It was reported that inquiries among the centres for financial assistance had met with a very poor response, all the major centres except Auckland having declined to assist. So far there is sufficient promised to meet Crump’s expense*
