CONSECRATION OF COLOURS.
CEREMONY TO. BE HELD ON APRIL 8.
Auckland* March 26.
The standard recently presented to the Old Contemptibles’ Association by the executive officers of the association in England) and a flag which has been given to the association by its president, Captain J, Dawson, Will both be consecrated at . St. Matthew's Church on Sunday, April 8, at 3 p.ni. It is anticipated that there Will be a large attend*' ance Of ex-servicemen, including mem" bers of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, ex-members of the Imperial ForCefi, members of the Legion of Frontiersmen and Sduth African Veterans’ Association, all of whom have been, invited. Arrangements have been made for the use Of the schoolroom adjoining the church,, where those unable to gain admission to the chufeh will be accommodated and to whom the addresses ahd service will be broadcast. An invitation has been extended to the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, members of the City Council, add to 1 the French and Belgian Consuls,' to be present
Members of the Various organisations represented will form up in units on the site of the old railway station and will inarch up Queen Street to the church. The final arrangements will be ifiade this Week.
