CRICKET TOUR IN INDIA
“BODYLINE” NOT EMPLOYED. EXCELLENT SPIRIT DISPLAYED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 28. Major Ricketts, manager of the M.C.C. team in India, when asked why bodyline was not exploited in India said that the Indians might not have known anything about it. “We did not find it necessary to try it,” he said. “We played cricket, which probably accounts for the excellent feeling at our matches.” The Daily Telegraph’s gossip writer fears it is too much to say that all members of the team return from India in the fittest condition for the strenuous summer ahead. There is danger of staleness in players who may be wanted for the tests.
