MATIERE CRICKET
On Sunday last the Matiere crldret team journeyed to Pio Pio and prayed a very enjoyable game against the Pio Pio eleven. Matiere’ batted first and made 125 runs, J. Hearfield 85, batting throughout the innings for the biggest majority of the Matiere runs, Pio Pio replied with 189, Ronaldson 49 retired being top-scorer. Many dropped catches by the Matiere fielders cost them the game. After the match the Matiere visitors were' entertained by the Pio Pio players, with a short social evening. The scores were:—
