FRENCH ECONOMY SCHEME
RETIREMENT OF CIVIL SERVANTS. ATTEMPTS TO BALANCE BUDGET. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. The Daily Mail’s Paris correspondent estimates that 30,000 civil servants who have reached the pension age will be retired under an economy scheme immediately, saving £12,000,000 annually. An all-round reduction in civil service salaries and abolition of unproductive State organisations will help to make up the remaining £38,000,000 needed to balance the Budget.
