Horse races may be “judged” by the invisible ray, if a new apparatus proves successful. It will show the winner even if the race is won by the shortest of heads.
Moving the exhibits of the Geological Museum, London, to its new* home will occupy 12 months; they include 50,000 mineral specimens, 75,000 fossil specimens, 12,000 maps, 6000 photographs and 50,000 books.
