DUTCH SEEK NEGOTIATIONS
IMPROVED BASIS FOR TRADE. FACILITATION OF DISCUSSIONS. British Wireless. Rugby, March 28. The Netherlands Government has informed the British Government that it is anxious to enter into negotiations with regard to trade between the two countries. Mr. D. J. Colville, Under-Secretary for Overseas Trade, stated in the House of.. Commons that in order to facilitate the discussions the Netherlands had decided to continue for a limited period to allot, to goods imported from the United Kingdom the quotas which were in force before the recently-proposed reductions were enacted. His Majesty’s Government was arranging to enter into discussions, the status quo on both sides being maintamed meantime in the hope that it would be. possible to arrive at a satisfactory arrangement for the future. Mr. Colville anticipated that the discussions would begin at an early date.
