FIRE AT WELLINGTON
FORESTRY OFFICE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 29. First last evening damaged severely an old two-storey wooden house, 53 Fitzherbert Terrace, formerly the home of Sir Harold Beauchamp and his daughter, the famous novelist, the late Katherine Mansfield. The building was occupied by the head office of the State Forest Service. There was nobody in the building and the doors had to be forced to gain admittance.
