TIN HARES AT ELTHAM

RESULTS OF FOUR EVENTS. ELTHAM CUP TO RATIONAL. Tin hare racing was inaugurated at Eltham last night when 16 dogs competed at Taumata Park. The winners were:— Eltham Cup: I. Stauners’ Rational. Ngaere Plate: P. Levandowski’s Seatown. Te Roti Purse: L. Hunt’s Silver Wings. Consolation: D. Myers’ Kissless. The course was over 300 yards long and the races proved exciting to the public. The heats resulted:— First heat: B. Pepperell’s Little Doubt 1, T. Fowler’s Cereal 2, S. Hancock’s Bright Glow 3, H. Ehrhom’s Paitonu 4. Time, 18 3-ss. Second heat: D. Myers’ Silver Link 1, T. Fowler’s Lady Quex 2, W. Watts’ Income 3, E. Butler’s Merry Way 4. Time, 19 l-ss. Third heat: I. Stanners’ Rational 1, T. Fowler’s Glowlight 2, L. Hunt’s Silver Wings 3, J. Tubby’s Davistock 4. Time, 17 2-ss. Fourth heat: B. Pepperell’s Passing Through 1, P. Levandowski’s Seatown 2, L. Davies’ Artful Dodger 3, D. Myers’ Kissless 4. Time, 17 3-ss. Consolation: Kissless 1, Merry Way 1, Davistock 3, Paitonu 4. Time, 18 2-ss. Te Roti Purse: Silver Wings 1, Income 2, Artful Dodger 3, Bright Glow 4. Time, 17 2-ss.
