LEAGUE AT STRATFORD

APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS. GROUNDS TO BE INSPECTED. A-general meeting of those interested in the formation of a Rugby League club at Stratford was held last night and attended by 19, over whom Mr. G. McIsaacs presided. At the last meeting a number of officers was appointed provisionally and the following additions or confirmations were made: Vice-presidents, eight; executive, Messrs. G. Mclsaacs; D. Julian, L. B. Davis, G. Sharrock, M. Lawson, J. Kerr and T. . Richardson; joint secretaries, Messrs. W. Bublitz and C. Francis; delegate to the centre, Mr. Mclsaacs. Consideration of the question of a ground saw arguments advanced in favour of the Regan Street field and the showground, the point being whether the advantages of better surface, stand and dressing sheds at the showground more than offset the drawback of its distance from town. The committee was instructed to inspect both grounds and decide. A black jersey and a wide red band were the colours chosen.
