TENNIS AND PERSONAL ITEMS.
Only one combined doubles tennis match was played .last week, when S. Reid and Mrs. Reid defeated R. Vickers and J. B. Hunt, 6—3. The.draw for next week is as follows: S. Reid and Mrs. Reid play A. Mapp and Mrs. Mapp, P. Anderson and Mrs Anderson play. S. Carter and Miss O. Rookes, C. Kelly and Mrs. J. Vickers play E. Fear and Miss Vickers, H. Vickers and Mrs. W. Vickers play W. Rookes and Miss J., Rookes, G. Vickers and Mrs. Hunt play W. Vickers and Miss Hunt, M. . Askew and Mrs. A. R. Askew play R. Vickers and J.- B. Hunt. No ladies’ doubles were played on Wednesday owing to the boisterous weather. Miss Bertha Yandle, Denbigh Road, is the guest of Mrs. L. Vickers. Mrs. L. Mapp and Mrs. A. Mapp are paying a short visit to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. Pentelow and Miss Jean Pentelow, New Plymouth, who have been the guests of Mrs. Rookes, have returned home. •' Mr. M. Davis left for Wellington on Monday morning.
