NOVEL ENGLISH SCHOOL. FIFTY GIRLS AS PUPILS. London, March 1. Unique in Britain is a women’s college at Tetbury, Gloucestershire, where 50 pupils, rich young women from many countries, and aged between 18 and 25 years, are taking a one-year’s course in “the art of living.” The pupils live in an old mansion set amid 600 acres of grounds, in which are several tennis courts, a swimming bath, a nine-hole golf course, and facilities for horse-riding. Many of the pupils have their own motor-cars. AU of them study biology, physiology, hygiene, elementary psychology, domestic science, dressmaking, first-aid and dietetics. Many of the girls are engaged to be married,, and these pay a visit each week .to Bristol baby clinics, to learn the arts of motherhood. All take turns at running a household, doing all the shopping, cleaning, laundering and cooking. The fees are £5O a term.
