STRIKE OF FISHERMEN
CHATHAM ISLANDS TROUBLE. COMPLAINT AT PRICE OF FISH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, March 5. A strike among the fishermen fishing for the trawler South Sea at the Chatham Islands is reported as a result of the men seeking an increase in the price of fish from id lb to Id. It is alleged, according to reports by the steamer Tees, that four new fishermen who began work on the trawler were prevented from fishing by the strikers, who threw their catch overboard, and that the men in the South Sea had to seek protection from the constable at Waitangi.
