CAMP AT WAIWAKAIHO
PREPARATIONS FOR WEEK-END. HUNDRED OFFICERS AND MEN. Officers and men of the Taranaki Regiment who were forced, while at the Waipukurau camp for the Central Command recently, to forego part of their training owing to the:camp being flooded are to be given an opportunity to finish their training during the week-end, when - a camp will be held at Waiwakaiho showgrounds. The reason for the holding of the camp, besides allowing for the completion of the training schedule, is to fulfil the arrangements regarding the paying of the troops. It is expected that about 100 officers and men from New Plymouth, Inglewood and Waitara will be under canvas, from Saturday afternoon till Sunday evening. Other camps will be held at Wanganui and elsewhere. About 80 from New Plymouth will be in the camp, the other 20 being from ..Waitara and Inglewood. It is probable that Major A. E. Conway, N.Z.S.C., will be in command of the camp.
