AGREEMENT NOT REACHED
TRADE WITH AUSTRALIA DISCUSSION TO BE RENEWED DEPARTURE OF MINISTER NEW ZEALAND DELEGATION By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. F. H. Stewart, Minister of Commerce in Australia, returned to the Commonwealth to-day. In a joint statement Messrs. J. G. Coates and R. Masters says: “Various subjects of interest were closely investigated and details discussed. It is not yet possible, however, to arrive at a final agreement, and it will be necessary to continue the discussions at a later date. “With this object in view Mr. Stewart has, at the request of the Prime Minister of Australia, invited the New Zealand Government to send a Ministerial delegation to Australia at a date to be arranged. Discussions on trade questions of mutual interest to the Dominion and the Commonwealth were continued to-day. Representatives of the Customs, Industries and Commerce, and the Agricultural Departments of the two countries were present. Mr. Masters and Mr. Stewart returned to Wellington on Thursday morning from the celebrations at Waitangi, at which Mr. Stewart represented the Commonwealth Government.
