Has not raced over battens for some time" but has had plenty of racing on the flat to fit him for his task. Riotous: Was second and first at Hawera. A proficient jumper. Royal Acre: Will be having his first race for a long time. Invictus: Won on the opening day at Hawera andAvas second on Saturday. Esteem: A newcomer to the game. Galloped well on Tuesday and gave a fair display over the fences yesterday. Chang: Had two races over hurdles at Hawera. The experience should do him good. Likes the going’soft. Constant Sun: Failed at Hawera but galloped well at New Plymouth on Tuesday. Beau Star: Schooled well at Hawera on Monday. Just the type to make good.

Has improved a lot since then. • Lady Kyra: Will be having her first race. Shows pace on the tracks. Flying Handicap. Souchong: A double winner at Egpiont. A brilliant beginner and can handle weight. British Columbia: A solid, consistent sprinter. Won at Takapuna and was' second to Souchong on Saturday. • Star Artist: A good filly. Was fourth ■in the Railway Handicap; and won at Takapuna ten days ago. Pomp: A good sprinter when in the mood. Ran a great race the final day at Trentham. The' Tiger: Failed both days at Hawera. Arvada: Will start in the Mimi Handicap. Limex: A consistent sort. Won on this course on Boxing Day, beating Refresher. Taranaki Cup. Peter Jackson: A class horse. Ran a good race at Hawera and should be an improved horse here. Fiji: Was a little above himself at Hawera. Should be all the better for his racing there. Aga Khan: Won the Egrnont Cup in good style. Right back to his beet form. All Humbug: Second to Aga Khan at Hawera. Galloped well yesterday morning. Carfex: Ran two good races at Hawera. Coming back to form. Alloy: ' Won in great style on Saturday and is a hardy sort. Desert Star: • His two seconds to Grand Jury .at Stratford represent good form. He is very well at present. Vertigem: Showed a glimpse of his old form at Trentham on the first day. Looks well. Royal Artist: Won the Wellington and Mitchelton Cup last season. No form this year, but worked well yesterday. Senegal: Failed on Saturday at Hawera but galloped well yesterday.

Okato Hack Handicap. Davistock: No form this season. St. Clara: Rarely runs a bad race but usually meets something just too good for her. Red Rufus: Beat Werohia at Woodville in December. Promising hack. Taitoru: Much improved hack. Ran a great race in the Nolan Hack Handicap last Thursday. Silk Sox: An improving hack. Worked in attractive style on Tuesday morning. Headmistress: Failed to stay this distance at Hawera. Red Flush: Failed at Hawera but worked well over half a mile yesterday. ■ Rust: Still a maiden but has shown promise and stays. Has won his last two races like a good one. Merry Way: Failed at Hawera but the race should have done her good. illuminate: May show up if the track is heavy.
