DEATH of MRS. H. SYMONS
FORMER RESIDENT OF TARANAKI-
A former resident of Taranaki, Mrs. H. Symons, nee Harre, widow of Mr. Fred Symons, formerly of Te Roti, died at Napier on January 27. _ . , Mrs. Symons came to New Zealand as a child with her parents from Scotland in the early ’seventies and settled for a time in Canterbury.. Commg to the North Island soon afterwards, her parents took up bush land near btrat•ford. She began nursing as a profession and saw service in the New Plymouth and Auckland hospitals. After her marriage she engaged in farming with her husband at Te Roti and at Kohuratahi. At Kohuratahi she is still remembered for her unfailing aid in time of sickness. Since the war Mrs. Symons has resided at Napier. Besides three adult children, Mrs. Symons leaves a large circle of relatives.
