Rec. 10 p.m. Shanghai, Jan. 28, The Government is determined to abolish the Chinese lunar new year, due next month, and establish the Western calendar, but the people are difficult to wean from the centuries old system and continue their daily and seasonal reckonings by the moon cycles. The introduction of modem motor transport is also upsetting the rickshawmen, who are striking against buses at various places.
