AGAINST A STRIKE

WELLINGTON UNEMPLOYED. The delegates’ council of the Wellington Union of Unemployed at a meeting on Monday night passed the following re “That°we, the delegates’ council of the Unemployed Union, while d e sl [°W s ™ unity and joint action that will help the lot of the worker, both employed and unemployed, deplore the tactics o e Wellington Relief Workers’ Union, and cannot take part further in the attempt to foment a national strike of reliet workers.

“While realising that strike is a valuable weapon for well-organis§d industries in key positions, we are of the opinion that strike action by relief workers is 1 doomed to failure and is-advan-tageous only to our opponents. .“We therefore refuse .to have any further dealings with the so-called United Front, as we consider its attempt to cause a strike and to alter its constitution and secretariat, without consent of the bodies affiliated, to be a breach th e_ agreement that brought us together and likely to destroy possible co-operation.
