NEW ZEALAND ITINERARY ELEVEN MATCHES IN DOMINION. _____— NO FIXTURE IN TARANAKI. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Australian cricket team will arrive at Wellington on February 19 and will play eleven matches in the Dominion, according to the itinerary drawn up by the New Zealand Council. The matches and dates are as follows: — February 20 and 21: Versus Rangitikei, at Marton. February 23, 24 and 26: Versus Wellington, at Wellington. February 27 and 28: Versus Ashburton, at Ashburton. March 2, 3 and 5: Versus New Zealand, at Dunedin. March 7 and 8: Versus South Canterbury, at Timaru. March 9, 10 and 12: Versus Canterbury, at Christchurch. March 14 and 15: Versus Hawke’s Bay, at Napier. March 17 and 19: Versus Poverty Bay, at Gisborne. March 23, 24 and 26: Versus Auckland, at Auckland. Wellington,. Last Night. Mr. L. J. Brabin, a member of the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association, returned to Wellington to-day by-the Marama. During a visit to Australia he met a number of prominent cricketers and cricket officials. Questioned about the strength of the toam for New Zealand, Mr. Brabin said all he could say was that it would be “a jolly good side.” Mr. Bull, of the board of control, said the players who did not get into the Australian team for England would be making the trip to ¥ew Zealand. They would be of Australian eleven standard. Mr. Bull considered the first six, or half the team, coming to New Zealand would be among those considered for the last few places in the team for England. Mr. Brabin brought back news of Mr. B. J. Kortlang, cricketing globe-trotter and at one time a Wellington and New Zealand representative player. Mr. Kortlang is in business at Manly and retains a keen love for cricket, coaching boys of Manly.
