KIDNAPPERS IDENTIFIED

FACTOR’S EYES UNSEALED ONCE. THREAT WHEN WRITING TO WIFE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Chicago, Jan. 26. Jacob Factor dramatically identified Rogers Touhy and two of his henchman as his kidnappers in the Criminal Courts to-day. He said that while his eyes were sealed with adhesive tape it was removed once to allow him to write a note to his wife asking her to pay £14,000 ransom, and he then had a clear view of his captors. He said that the kidnapper he identified as Touhy threatened to “blow out his brains and cut off his ear and send them to his wife as a souvenir.” FACTOR STILL UNSHAKEN. EXTRADITION EVASION ALLEGED. Rec. 7.5 p.m. Chicago, Jan. 27. In the face of a seven hours’ slashing cross-examination by defence attorneys, Jacob Factor was unshaken in his identification of Touhy and his associates as his kidnappers. The defence attempted to impair Factor’s credibility as a witness, reviewing much of his record and trying to draw the conclusion that his prosecution of the kidnapping charge against Touhy was part of a plan to forestall his extradition to England which had already been ordered.
