FREE SWIMMING TUITION
PAHIATUA CLUB’S ACHIEVEMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Pahiatua, Last Night. What is claimed as probably unique and a New Zealand record in proportion to population is that of the Pahiatua Swimming Club, which has given free tuition in 21 years to over 900 children. The club’s wonderful achievement was accomplished by a small band of enthusiasts with very slender finance. The rate of children able to swim here is greater than in any other part of the Dominion. The club president is Mr. J. A. Walsh, who has occupied the office continuously Jar 21 years.
