MAULED BY BIG SHARK
BREAST BARED TO BONE. MAN ATTACKED AT RIVER WHARF. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.5 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 28. Continued sultry weather is keeping sharks moving in coastal and river waters. Walter John McCutcheon, aged 15, was swimming at Lambeth Wharf, East Hills, on the Georges River 20 miles from the sea last night when he was mauled by a ten-foot shark. McCutcheon’s left arm was badly gashed and his breast bared to the bone. Frank Spruce showed great bravery, rescuing McCutcheon with the shark’s tail lashing his body.
