CRICKET MATCH AT WAITARA

DEFEAT OF STRATFORD VISITORS. Playing at Waitara on Thursday Waitara defeated Stratford in a one innings cricket match by 47 runs. The scores were:— Stratford: Hill, c Priar b O’Dcnnell.7; Kivell, b Collins 5; Owen, b Collins 7; Speechley, b Collins 1; Fowler, b Collins 0; Schlitching, c Pizzey b O’Donnell 4; Pollard, st. Priar b O’Donnell 0; Foley, b Collins 1; Cuff, c Collins b O’Donnell 7; Lamplough, b Collins 2; Low, not out 2; total 36. Bowling: Collins six wickets for 19 runs, Pizzey none for two, O’Donnell four for 15.

On going to the wicket a second time Stratford compiled 81, the top-scorers being Pollard, 34, and Schlitching, 15 not out. O’Donnell took six wickets, Collins three and Pizzey one.
