COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATED.
To celebrate the coming-of-age of their daughter, Mavis, Mr. and Mrs. F. Roebuck, Oka to, entertained about 80 guests at a dance in the Tataraimaka hall last Monday. Miss Gilhooly, Pungarehu, provided the music and extras were played on the bagpipes by Messrs. J. McKinnon and Watt. A Monte Carlo waltz was won. by Mr. Ray Chard and Miss N. Chard. Mrs. Roebuck wore a black frock spotted in red and Miss Mavis Roebuck a dainty red figured voile. Among the guests were Mesdames Cochran (black velvet), Jenkins (black figured silk), Bright (henna frock 7 ), A. Thompson (black, marocain), Chard (brown silk), Harvey (beige lace), Matthews (navy blue), Busing (black velvet), Woodward (gray frock), McCarty (figured rayon), Doherty (green and white), Andrews (navy blue), Ferguson (green silk),. Misses C. Roebuck (pink crepe de chine), T. Roebuck (blue lace over fawn), M. Andrews (tussore), P. Andrews (floral voile), R. Roebuck (brown 7 satin and lace), D. Jury (cream fuji), N. Chard (black silk), E. Chard (black frock), R. Thompson (pink linen), E. McCarty (flor.al dimity), L. McCarty (green with black stripes), I. Corbett (pink voile), E. Jenkins (fuji frock) and J. Busing (green floral voile).
