Mrs. Pettitt, Wanganui, who was a recent visitor to Patea, was the guest of Mrs. C. H. Carey. Miss Marian Hamerten is on a visit to Masterton. Miss N. Kelly is spending her annual leave in the South Island. Miss Molly Davidson, Whenuakura, returned with Miss Ruth Findlay to Upper Hutt. Mrs. A. W. Smaill is expected home this week from a holiday in the South Island. Mir.; E. L. Paterson has been appointed infant mistress at the Fairlie district High School. Nurses M. Kettles and R. Jones, trainees at the Patea hospital, have passed their final State examination. Mrs. Tibbetts, Pio Pio, is visiting relatives at Whenuakura. Mrs. W. .Jargrove and family, who have been holidaying at Rotorua and Hawke’s Bay, are expected home this week-end. Mrs. Norton Major, who has been the guest of Mrs. K. Sharpe, has returned to Stratford. Miss Joan Bourke, Whenuakura, is visiting Mrs. Thorbum at Wanganui. Mrs. L. Cronin is on a visit to friends at Manaia. Miss Marjorie Todd is the guest of Mrs. W. T. Simmons. The Misses Morrison, Waverley, are tire guests of Mrs. Ray Hughes. Mrs. Markwick, Wellington, is staying" with her sister, Mrs. J. Petersen. Mrs. E. Harris and Miss Ruby Harris are spending a short holiday at Wellington. Mrs. W. Shirtcliffe, Otakeho, was a visitor to Patea tins week and was the guest of Mrs. B. Waterland. Miss Ellie Brookes, who has been staying with Mrs. J. Bates, has returned to New Plymouth. Mrs. B. Stevens has returned to Wellington, having been the guest of Mrs. W. Bond. . Mrs. R. Gibbings, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. Pearce at Whenuakura. Mrs. G. Ehrke, Devonport, and Mrs. C. Leigh, Ponsonby, who have been visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Carey, will return home this week-end. Mrs. Furlong and Miss Patsy Furlong, Palmerston North, are the guests of Mrs. P. Hughes at Otautu. Mrs. W. Lyne, Timaru, who has been staying witn Mrs. A. Carey, will leave for homi to-day. , Miss I. Bond has left for a holiday at Wellington for several weeks. Mrs. E. 0. Homer has returned from a holiday tour of the Hawke’s Bay district. Mrs. E. J. Stanford is visiting Wanganui before taking up residence at New Plymouth. Mrs. E. Papps is spending a holiday at Wellington. Miss V. Loye has returned to Whenuakura from a visit to friends at New Plymouth. Mrs. G. Taylor and family are spending a holiday at Palmerston North. Mrs. J. A. Drummond was hostess at a party held by Miss Olga Drummond’s friends at their residence on Thursday. Miss Drummond is to resume her art training at" Auckland shortly.
