BUTTER MARKET STEADY

DEMAND FOR COLOURED CHEESE. REPORTS RECEIVED FROM LONDON. The sudden rise in the price of butter on the London market reported during the week has been maintained, according to latest reports, and the market is steady. Coloured cheese is in greater demand than white, prices being quoted at 435. For both white and coloured the market is steady. Reports received, with last week’s prices in parentheses, are;,— Mr. E. Griffiths (A. J. Mills and Co. Ltd-.):—Butter: The market is steady; New Zealand finest, 68s (665); New Zealand firsts, 67s (655); New Zealand unsalted, 70s, 725; Danish, 86s (84s to 86s). Cheese: The market is steady; New Zealand white, 425, 42s 6d (425, 435); New Zealand coloured, 435, 43s 6d (41s, 425); Canadian, 48s, 52s (48s, 525).. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd.:—Butter: New Zealand choicest salted, 68s, 69s (675); market quiet. Cheese: White, 41s 6d, 42s (425, 42s 6d); coloured, 43s (42s 6d, 435); market steady. FEBRUARY DAIRY ALLOTMENTS. FIVE SHIPS FOR NEW PLYMOUTH. The February dairy allotments for NewPlymouth . have been released ..by the Dairy Produce Board. Five vessels will call, and although oiie‘allotment still remains, 29,200 boxes of butter and 16,200 crates of cheese will be loaded. The shipments are: February 10: Port Hunter, 15,000. boxes of butter, 5100 crates of cheese. February 16: Port Victor, 7700 boxes of butter. . ' , i February 19: Opawa,. not alldtted.
