ART UNION ALLOCATIONS

PROFITS ON "LUCKY SURPRISE.” Allocations of the profits from the “Lucky Surprise” art union, which closed on Saturday last, were approved at a meeting of Cabinet yesterday.' The only Taranaki allocation is £lOO to the Taranaki Egg-laying Society in liquidation of its bank overdraft, conditional on other debts being reduced.

Young) as follow: Relief of distress in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch'and Dunedin, £250 each; Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club, to assist in repairing earthquake damage to the club’s buildings, £3000; Wellington Hostel for Returned Soldiers and Sailors, £500; Buller Mining Committee, prospecting auriferous Pakihi cement deposit, £300; Fendalton Tennis and Croquet Club, to liquidate the bank overdraft and debenftires conditional on certain other liabilities being reduced by not less than £3OO, £1080; North Beach Gala and Foreshore Improvement Society, to liquidate the bank overdraft conditional on the society paying off all other liabilities, £400; Allenton Sports Club, towards liquidating the bank overdraft and payment, of debts conditional on the club providing at least £5O in payment of other debts, £150; Howick Hall Improvement League, towards liquidating debts conditional on the league providing the balance required to liquidate its liabilities amounting to £2OO, £500; Temuka Library Committee, to liquidate the bank overdraft provided the committee raised £5O in payment of debts, £350; Makarau Public Hall Committee, for reconditioning the hall and library, £2OO.
