The weekly quotations are based on actual sales Of wholesale quantities of carcases of mutton or lamb, or of quarters of beef delivered to Smithfield market and/or London stores. They are compiled by the quotations committee, Smithfield. For the equivalent ex ship values one farthing per pound should be deducted from the prices quoted above. Quotations given represent the average for the week and are not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments now on offer. DAIRY PRODUCE MARKETS. HOLIDAY BUTTER PRICES WEAK. Friday’s advices regarding the London dairy produce markets are confirmed in messages received on Saturday. The holiday butter market is slow while cheese is steady. Reports are: — Anglo-Continental Produce Company (H. M- Thomson): Holiday market slow. Butter, 65s to 675; cheese, white 48s, coloured 445. Messrs. Collett and Co. Ltd., creamery butter (finest) 66s to 675, (first) 65s to 665; white cheese 47s to 48s, coloured chieese 43s to 445. J. and J. Lonsdale and Co. (A. S. Paterson -end Co. Ltd.): Butter, market weaker, New Zealand 65s to 665, Australian 645; cheese, market steady, white 48s, coloured 445. *’• Messrs. Samuel Page and Son: Butter, market weak. Danish 96s to 98s (106 s to 108 s last week); New Zealand finest salted 65s to 67s (67s to 695); Australian finest unsalted 65s to 68s (68s to 70s); Australian finest salted 64s to 66s (66s to 68s); Australian G.A.Q 60s to 62s (62s to 645). Cheese, market steady at present prices. New Zealand white 48s (47s to 48s), coloured 44s (445); spot price for Canadian white 46s to 50s (46s to 535), coloured 46s to 50s (46s to 50s).
