LUTTRELL BEATS SULLIVAN.
By Telegraph—Press Association.Napier, Last Night.
Ted Oxley, New Zealand lightweight champion, gained a points decision at Napier to-night against Joe Franklin after a gruelling contest. In the finalround Oxley was groggy from a whirlwind attack by Franklin, who used his right in successive vicious swings. Oxley managed to hang on owing to Franklin being utterly exhausted in the heavy slogging. Vai Luttrell gained a points decision over Billy Sullivan, the bout being characterised by' both' men making the pace and each taking severe punishment. The decision astonished the house, which almost unanimously voiced strong disapproval.
