BENEFIT TO CANTERBURY CROPS.
VALUE OF WHEAT YIELDS RISES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Dec. 18. As the result of beneficial rains in Canterbury over the week-end the value of wheat yields will go up by many thousands of pounds. One authority stated that the rain was worth £1,000,000 in grain, seed and improved pastures. The average wheat yield should be 30 bushels. The rain, was badly needed.
