ANTI-CYCLONE ADVANCIDiG.

The weather will be cool and changeable with some scattered rain in most districts, but will, become fair to fine soon in western districts and improve gradually elsewhere. The depression responsible for the recent widespread rains is passing eastward and’ an anti-cyclone is advancing towards the Dominion. Winds will be westerly at first north of Cape Egmont and Napier; otherwise southerly will prevail, moderate but freshening somewhat. Seas will be rough on the west coast of the North Island. LATE SHIPPING. Auckland, December 18:—Arrived: Waimarino, 11.50 a.m., from Wellington; Port Waikato, 6 p.m., from Sydney. Lyttelton, December 18:—Arrived: Maui Pomare, 6.50 a.m., from Apia and Niue. Sailed: Gale, 1 p.m., for Dunedin; Wahine, 8.10 p.m., for Wellington. To sail: Kartigi, for Wellington.
