FARMER DROWNED IN BULLER
FOOT SLIPS IN CROSSING RIVER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wesport, Dec. 16. James Hannah, farmer, aged 50 years, who leaves a wife and two sons, was drowned in the Buller River about 2.30 p.m. yesterday, while crossing from his farm on the east side • to a section he also owned on the west side of the river. He was within 30 yards of the further bank when he appeared to lose his footing. He was carried dovm the stream and sank. His body was recovered about two hours later.
