CHAMPION SWIMMERS
PERFORMANCES AT HAWERA. LARGE CROWD AT CARNIVAL. The Australian girl swimming champions appeared at Hawera last night. The baths were packed for the carnival. Miss Frances Bult won the ladies’ 50 yards and the 150 yards open, and with S. Anderson dead-heated for first place in the dual relay. Miss Clare Dennis won the 150 open breaststroke. The visitors gave a demonstration of swimming. The results are: —

Inter-club relay: Hawera A scr 1, Eltham 5s 2, Stratford 2s 3. Time, 52 2-ss. In'a polo match Hawera beat Stratford by four goals to nil. Ryan, Beaven and E. Tarrant scored goals and Ryan secured the fourth from a penalty. A dance was held after the carnival.

IMPORTANT PARK-HAWERA GAME.
The Wednesday teams of the Hawera and Park Bowling Clubs will meet on the Hawera green to-morrow in the last match of the section. Should Hawera win both teams will tie with Opunake and there will have to be a triple replay. Hawera club teams are: Colclough, Higgs, Goodchap, Canning (s); Joll, Baker, Kendall, Robb (s); J.
