APPEAL AGAINST SENTENCE
LEAVE GRANTED TO SOLICITOR. IMPRISONMENT TERM REDUCED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 20. The Court of Appeal this morning granted leave to Albert Lionel Bailey, solicitor, formerly of Napier, to appeal from the sentence of five years’ imprisonment with hard labour imposed upon him at Wellington on August 17 last. At the same time the court, having considered the matter, reduced the sentence io three years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
