SEAMEN’S REST FUNDS
W.C.T.U. MART AT NEW PLYMOUTH. A very successful day's business was experienced by the W.C.T.U. at New Plymouth yesterday, when a mart in aid of tlie Seamen’s Rest funds was held in the Whiteley Hall. Over £2O was received from the stalls and from contributions, a result considered very satisfactory in view of the number of public appeals made recently. Generous donations were received for the stalls and all day a very brisk trade was done, so that by the end of the afternoon practically all was sold. The stall-holders were: Cakes, Mesdames Dickson and Valentine; meat and produce, Mesdames Loveridge, Bailey and Berg; flowers, Mrs. Gibson; plain and fancy needlework, Mesdames Malcolm, Bottrill and Deare, and Miss King; afternoon tea, Mesdames Green and Woods.
