CLOSING OF THE SEASON. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. The official closing for the season of the Inglewood golf links was held yesterday in fine weather. There was a very large attendance of members l and visitors. Various competitions were played, after which the trophies for the season were presented to the winners by the president, Dr. Faris, as follows:— Championships: Men’s senior, S. G. _S. Lovell; junior, D. Gow; ladies’ senior, Miss M. G. Morton, junior, Miss Jean Morton; Darlow rose bowl (men, 1 , W. H. Meyer; best three out of five medal rounds, S. G. S. Lovell; Canadian drive, mixed, Miss McLean and J. O. Morton; men’s four-ball bogey, S. Lovell and J. O. Morton; mixed flag match, Miss J. Johnston and D. Gow; men’s ’> g:y, C. A. McKay; one club and putter (men), S. Lovell; mixed foursome, Miss. McAllum and R. W. Brown; Canadian drive, mixed, Miss Marshall and W. J. Smith; men’s bogey, W. J. Smith; men’s four ball bogey, D. Gow and F F-.rt ridge; mixed flag match, Miss Dobson and W. H. Meyer. Moa Dairy Payment.

For September the Moa Co-operative Dairy Company paid at the rate of lOd on 240,3381 b of butter-fat, making a total payment of £10,013 6s 9d.

New Zealand Legion. At a well-attendee meeting at Ratapiko on Tuesday evening it was .decided to form a branch of the Legion in that district and a representative committee was appointed to make the necessary arrangements. The branch will combine with the Kaimata-Tarata centre. Lapse of Cricket.

Many followers of the game regret that cricket has lapsed at. Inglewood this season. For a number years the club has found it hard to find players to field a team, and little interest has been

t-aken in the Thursday competition. The Saturday and Thursday half-holiday at Inglewood affects cricket, and there are a number of cricket enthusiasts who are unable to play on Thursdays owing to this. Books at Library.
