Four Brazi ans, including two men related to the Brazilian presidential family, were killed on Sunday night when an Argentine border patrol repulsed a launch crossing the Uruguay River from Brazil. The dead include Agi Vargas, a nephew of President Vargas, Abbon Motta, a cousin of the President’s wife, a German-bom owner of the launch whose name was given as Rosenbeck and the launch pilot. The border guard said that the launch was carrying a group of men armed with rifles and machine guns and believed to have been seeking the release of men held in connection with the kidnapping of the Brazilian political refugee, Colonel Juan Garcia Cunha on September 18. The Argentine Government, states a Buenos Aires messages, on Monday night cabled its Ambassador in Rio de Janeiro to present Argentina’s condolences to Brazil over the frontier incident on Sunday. The Ministry of Marine has ordered an investigation. Official circles have recognised the incident as a grave threat to harmony between Brazil and Argentina.
